เปิดจองก่อนประเทศเจ้าของเครื่อง !!! Deutsche Telekom confirms iPhone 5 reservations กันยายน 6, 2011

Filed under: Uncategorized — dajimdream @ 12:55 am

German-language Focus.de is reporting (Google translation) that T-Mobile customers in the country are now allowed to reserve Apple’s unreleased handset, the iPhone 5, since this morning. The iPhoneblog.de first broke the story and 9to5Mac has also received several tips from our readers confirming that the Deutsche Telekom-owned wireless operators has in fact begun issuing so-called Premieren Ticket. These are basically support tickets – one per customer – for early adopters and informed buyers who couldn’t be otherwise convinced into buying the existing iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS.

Those coupons will eventually let folks claim their handset, when it arrives, on a first-come-first-served basis. Only the carrier’s customers are eligible and only upon contacting sales representatives in one of the carrier-owned brick-and-mortar stores or by calling customer support. As you could imagine, Deutsche Telekom is pretty low-key about the initiative and thus shuns from advertising it apart from a rather cryptic hint on their website. Shortly after the report was published, Bloomberg was able to verify it with a company spokesperson, who said:

Deutsche Telekom AG (DTE) will allow customers to reserve the next generation of Apple Inc. (AAPL)’s iPhone as of today in anticipation of supply bottlenecks for the device, spokesman Alexander von Schmettow said by phone. The operator will hand out coupons to people who expressly request the successor model to the iPhone 4, without providing the name or release details of the device, he said.

Hints have been multiplying since last week that Apple could be close to unveiling a fifth-generation iPhone. Apple store employees have received their iOS 5 and iCloud training material and internal Best Buy documents have pointed to a Sprint iPhone 5 launch in the first week of October. Both nuggets confirm 9to5Mac’s discovery from July that Sprint would get iPhone 5, based on an April job posting seeking cellular engineers in the Kansas City region, right in the neighborhood of Sprint’s headquarters. 9to5Mac also originally broke the news that Apple would begin accepting iPhone 5 pre-orders in early September, gearing up for an early October launch. Also…

…This past Saturday, Japanese blog Macotakara wrote (Google translation) that contract manufacturers Pegatron Technology and Foxconn have begun assembling iPhone 5 at a rate of 85 percent and 15 percent, respectively. The blog notes that the units are not yet being packaged in boxes until Apple iOS 5 is ready for prime time. With so much clues out in the open, it’s safe to assume that invites for an Apple media event are ready and that it is now up to Apple’s marketing and CEO Tim Cook to hit the Launch button.

iPhone 5 Very Likely To Feature A 4-inch Display According To Analysis Of iPhone 5 Cases กันยายน 5, 2011

Filed under: Uncategorized — dajimdream @ 4:21 am

Recently we have reported a comparison between an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 5 case that showed a thinner and wider design of the iPhone 5. Now an analysis of the cases have been made that showed that the next iPhone may feature a 4-inch display.

The analysis was made by MacRumors who bought a couple of iPhone 5 cases and made a comparison between them and the iPhone 4 and the iPod touch A lot of measurements were taken to consider the accuracy of the third-party cases. The results indicated that the iPhone 5 will have a 4 inch or slightly smaller display of 3.5″ to 3.7″.

Do you think that the iPhone 5 will have a 4-inch display or not ?

Is Microsoft planning to hand out a Samsung Windows 8 slate at BUILD?

Filed under: Uncategorized — dajimdream @ 3:15 am

Microsoft may be planning to give away a Samsung tablet at its BUILD conference later this month.

Speculation on Microsoft’s BUILD conference giveaway kicked off last month after Microsoft employees Jeff Johnson and Patrick Hevesi showed off some new Windows powered slate devices during the “Come and see the latest and greatest in Windows Devices” presentation at Tech-Ed New Zealand. One particular device caught the world’s attention after the presenters claimed it was a Quad Core Slate that will be given out at an upcoming Microsoft event.

The Slate in question could be manufactured by Samsung. Thanks to some impressive detective work by Long Zheng, it’s clear that the device shown at Tech-Ed New Zealand is almost identical to the recently announced Samsung Series 7 Slate. Zheng points out that the side buttons and rear camera are in identical locations and the overall look of the device is near-identical. The exhaust grill and SIM slot are different. Either way, it appears the device that was shown at Tech-Ed was manufactured by Samsung.

Samsung Slate?

Microsoft is expected to supply all BUILD attendees with an ARM-based Windows 8 tablet. Microsoft previously revealed its ARM support inside Windows 8 at CES 2011. The company will supply ARM builds of Windows 8 strictly through an OEM program once Windows 8 is final. The BUILD tablet for attendees will be one of the latest and greatest Windows devices, equipped with the hardware sensors that Windows 8 will take advantage of.

Microsoft plans to unveil Windows 8 to the world at its BUILD conference later this month. Stay tuned to WinRumors for live coverage and reaction to the next-generation of Windows.

Steve Jobs inspired กันยายน 4, 2011

Steve Jobs inspired

Steve Jobs, thanks.

That’s at least what some small business owners have to say to the brainy Apple co-founder who stepped down from his position as CEO last week.

The risk-taker and college dropout, who resigned from Apple in 1985 only to return in 1997 and sell his colleagues on a then-crazy idea called the iPod, has put fire into the bellies of budding entrepreneurs.

From an apparel company to an audio-book creator, some small businesses would not be around if not for their tight connections to the iPhone, iPad, iPod and Mac products.

To sync up with Cupertino, Calif.-based Apple, small businesses have learned to roll out products quickly, to keep up with the rapid speed that new versions of Apple products are released. “No other company, in our modern age, has moved things, as far as technology goes, so quickly,” said Damon Brown, author of “Damon Brown’s Simple Guide to the iPad” and “The Pocket Idiot’s Guide to the iPod” (Alpha Books, 2005),

“It’s a game changer. Small businesses have to move much faster than they used to. They have to listen. That could totally destroy, or totally create, a new market,” said Brown.

10 things to love about the story of the iPhone 5 that walked out of a tequila lounge

Another Apple employee loses an iPhone prototype in a bar. I smell a movie script.

The bar at Cava22. Photo: James Martin/CNET

The tech press is never happier than when it’s in hot pursuit of the next Apple (AAPL) iPhone. Almost any clue will do — a purloined case design, a blurry factory photo, a leaked production estimate from a sketchy Asian news source.

That’s what made last year’s saga of the prototype iPhone 4 — lost in a bar and sold to a Gizmodo editor whose house was raided and his computers seized — so irresistible.

The story of the iPhone 5 that broke this week hasn’t got those kind of legs, but it’s not without its charms.

My favorite details:

1. Cava22. The San Francisco tequila lounge where the device was lost serves a mean lime-marinated shrimp ceviche. (CNET)
2. The booze. The owner of the bar told CNET: “I guess I have to make my drinks a little less strong.”
3. Find-My-iPhone. It worked, to a degree. Apple traced the missing device to a two-story house in San Francisco’s Bernal Heights neighborhood (CNET) that turned out to be in Ingleside (SFWeekly)
4. “Priceless” That’s what Apple gave the San Francisco Police Department as the value of the missing item (CNET)
5. The cops. The cash-strapped SFPD thought the incident of sufficient importance to assign four plainclothes officers to the case. (SFWeekly)
6. The search. The owner of the house — one Sergio Calderón, 22 — allowed his home to be thoroughly tossed without asking for a search warrant or to see some identification. (SFWeekly)
7. The potted plants.
The real police waited politely outside while two Apple security guys conducted the search, offered Calderón a $300 reward, made vague threats about illegal aliens, and left a business card that could be traced back to Apple (SFWeekly)
8. The hard guy
. The LinkedIn page (since removed) of Anthony “Tony” Colon — the Apple detective who led the search — listed his specialties as threat assessment, counter terrorism, executive protection and site security surveys. (SF Weekly)
9. The subterfuge. The SFPD was able to keep the department out of the story — at least for a few hours — by telling the press that it had no report any search or even of a missing device. (Business Insider)
10. Call central casting. The name of the police lieutenant who finally owned up to the SFPD’s role in the matter — admitting that at Apple’s request no crime report was filed — was Troy Dangerfield. (SFWeekly)

You couldn’t make this stuff up.

And what happened to the missing iPhone? Is it still at large? Did Tony Colon manage to track it down? Apple, not surprisingly, isn’t saying.
